Throughout your life, there will be many choices that you will have to make. Life can seem overwhelming at times for this very reason. Many times, you make seemingly simple insignificant choices that end up having great consequences. Those consequences can be either good or bad. The good news is that you can learn from mistakes and still create positive momentum. The key to making good choices is to never lose sight of your target. Your target is your personal vision of success. In order to bring your vision of success into reality, you have to have certain core beliefs and values that guide your thinking. Whenever you are faced with a decision, you must ask yourself: What is most important?
For example, you have a huge test on Monday (You have also been struggling in this class). There is also a party you would also like to attend on Saturday night. If you go to the party, your study time is gone because you already had a commitment during the day. You have a choice to make. At this point, your vision pops into your mind and you are able to process the situation correctly. What is most important? Because you have hopes of becoming an engineer, you decide to sacrifice the fun you could have at the party (Important) in order to do well on the test (Most Important). This is not to say that you can’t have any fun. With proper time management and organization, you can still enjoy life. However, people who are led by a vision never let what is important negatively affect what is most important. Think about it.
