I took this picture while on a vacation in Lake Ozark, MO. If you look in the middle of the top of the picture, you will notice something odd. It sticks out because it is darker than everything else. It doesn’t belong. We visited a cave and the name of this cave is Bridal cave. It’s called Bridal cave because people actually get married in this cave. As we were touring this cave we actually walked through a wedding ceremony. The object that you see in the right corner is actually a piece of wood. When explorers first located this cave, it was not very convenient to travel throughout the cave. There were no pathways on which to travel. As a result, the Explorers had to find a way to travel throughout the cave. This piece of wood served as a bridge for those explorers.
At times life can be like traveling through and uncharted cave. There are no guarantees in life and you will have to work for the things that you want. It is true that your school work will become increasingly challenging as you grow older. The amount of work may even frustrate you. But you have to remember what is on the other side. You have a lot of potential and there are dreams that you want to make a reality. What you’re doing now will help you make those dreams a reality. It is true at times that you won’t necessarily use the content that you are learning in the “real world.” But your curriculum includes the requirements that everyone had to meet before they can graduate and chase their dreams. What you have to do is develop the growth mindset of those cave explorers. They had no path set for them. You have to think like them and find a way. You have the benefit of family members who love you and care for you. You also have teachers, counselors and principals will do whatever it takes to help you be successful. That’s a lot of help. Find a way
