One of the first rules of driving is to always keep your eyes on the road and keep two hands on the steering wheel. These things seems like they are common sense rules to live by when you are driving a car. However, there is a lot of data out there that reminds us of the dangers of distracted driving. Did you know that: Reading one text is the equivalent of driving the length of a football field at 55 mph, with your eyes off the road? Numerous people (Adults and Teens) take unbelievable risks with their lives when they don’t follow common sense rules while driving. The latest research reported that 70% of teens say they use mobile apps while driving. Such distractions while driving reduce the time a driver can react to something out of the ordinary (a sudden, sharp turn for example). When driving a car, always Be Ready To Adjust (BRTA).
In life, it is important to BRTA. Your teachers don’t coordinate with each other to determine who will give homework at a specific time so they don’t overwhelm you. Life does not wait for you to be ready for certain challenges and obstacles. Instead, you have to prepare yourself as best you can so that you can make the necessary adjustments at the right time. Here are some general things that will help you stay ready:
- Stay Organized
- Seek/Apply Feedback
- Always do your best
- Be on time
- Maintain a planner (Electronic or Paper)
