It is easy to take for granted the fact that education is free in many parts of the world. However, in some parts of the world, a desire to be educated can be dangerous thing. Malala Yousafzai is a 16 year old Pakistani girl. She lives in a place where many felt women shouldn’t be educated. Malala believed in education so much that she was willing to defy others who disagreed. She stood for girls’ education and for that, she was shot in the head as she walked home from school one day. Thankfully, that wasn’t the end of the story. Malala survived and continues the fight. Click here to listen to an amazing speech she gave to representatives from over 100 countries. Think of her the next time you don’t want to go to school or complete your homework. What you get for free, others have to fight for.
