Whenever you go to a movie theater, it is expected that you pay the price of a ticket to see the movie you desire. The laws of supply and demand determine a reasonable price of the ticket. Once you are in the theater, the law of supply and demand forces you to pay some ridiculously high prices for candy, soda, and popcorn. The cost of entertainment can really add up. Concession stand items can be purchased at a lower price in other places. However, if you are in the movie theater, you must pay the higher prices.
Entertainment is something that all of us can enjoy. As we grow older, we are given more responsibilities. Many people have careers that are very demanding. You are a student and there are certain responsibilities that come with being a student. Being a successful student can be challenging because it requires an investment of your time, energy, and effort. As it relates to time, it is your most valuable resource. After 4 years of high school, it is expected that you are ready to graduate. What you do during that time determines if you will be ready to make the leap to college.
There are a number of things that compete for your time outside of school. One of those things is Entertainment. Entertainment is everywhere. Your phone is filled with opportunities for entertainment. But think of this – There is a cost that comes with entertainment. I’m not talking about a monetary cost. There is a much more significant cost. You can’t do two things at once. The time you spend on entertaining yourself can’t be spent pursuing academic excellence at the time. You must choose one over the other. When you think of it like that, you will realize the true cost of entertainment. The point is that you must be wise in deciding how you will spend your time. There is a time for entertainment and a time for work. You decide.
